Growing up as a big Honda/Acura enthusiast, I have a soft spot for high-revving Vtec engines. I’ve had plenty of great experiences running through autocrosses in my brother’s Integra Type R and doing track days with my Prelude Type SH (which understeers like a pig, but is still fun). So my weekend in the Civic Si was sort of a trip down memory lane 10 years later and with the latest technology under the hood.

As always, this engine loves to dance up above 5,000 rpms and does so effortlessly and delivers a healthy dose of power, too. The pedals are set up perfectly for matching revs with the engine providing instant throttle response, and the awesome gearbox is a pleasure to row through. As I’ve said before, everyone should take a lesson from Honda on how a manual should shift.
